HUM logo/identity assignment DISCUSSION

For following week

Students start researching images/symbols related to needs of HUM project as identified in discussion. Initial ideating sketches begin.

Develop 10 questions for HUM division to help you develop your work. (Hint: Mission/Program goals/SLOs of each discipline)

Visit Havre de Grace Hall, which houses the HUM division and look at the colors of the building, both interior and exterior.  Find the Barbara Marcus painting that Dean Henderson refers to in her email that is driving her idea of color for the logo.

ELECTION DAY POSTERS Critique & Install

HUM Logo/Identity Project   11:30-12:00 Meet with members of the HUM Division:  Linda Heil/Julie Swift/Dottie Miller.  (have your questions ready)

For following week

Develop initial sketches based on needs revealed in meeting.

Upload sketches to the Art 207 FTP directory by Sunday 10/19, 5pm. Minimum 25 individual sketches scanned directly from your sketchbooks at 72ppi.

Folded Poster Review 10 am for Final Share

10x10x15 Print share Bring 15 prints of your favorite graphic design piece for a print share. Your print share piece must be printed out on Zeppo and be trimmed to 10” x 10”.  The print must be a new experimental graphic design piece you’ve created.  It doesn’t neccessarily have to be created on the computer, just printed out on Zeppo.  The piece could be a logo, a collage, a mark, an illustration, an abstract color piece, a design of your fancy.  You can draw it by hand, marker, pen or pencil or mouse or stylus.  Have fun!

Bring something to eat for everyone, I will bring in the beverages.
